Burg Gleiberg in Wettenberg

Great castle. When cycling we come here again and again and stop to take a breather. Always nice here.

I have often seen the castle from a distance from the A45 and now I was finally there and seen the A45 from the castle :-D ... is really a beautiful castle, although the ravages of time have gnawed at it Has.

Very interesting castle ruins. A tour of the facility allows you to immerse yourself in historical times. The tower is closed due to Corona. There is also a great view of the landscape for free. There are parking spaces directly at the castle.

Very beautiful castle ruins with a fabulous view in all directions. A great backdrop for photos of all kinds. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, it is currently not possible to climb the high tower, as you cannot keep enough distance there. But even that will pass and from experience I can say that the view from up there is a lot nicer. Especially since you have a nice 360 ​​° view.

Great castle. I was there with kids, nice view, ideal for playing "hide and seek XXL". A cafe and restaurants complete it. Seriously recommended. Apparently a popular location for weddings too.

Beer garden with a great view and nice service

From the castle you have a fantastic view on almost all sides. It's fun to explore. Various restaurants and a beer garden are attached to the castle. Here you can enjoy it and. the trees provide wonderful shade for the beer garden.

The Lahnhotel seems a lot better to me than when I was here a few years ago. The lady at the front desk was very attentive and was very friendly and accommodating when we wanted to change the room again. The room was small but very nice and quiet. The bathtub in which you had to shower was a disaster, slippery and you couldn't really get under the shower head. The water pattered on the window sill and against the window. Not really practical. I think it was because it was the room at the end of the hall. Dinner was ok. The breakfast was excellent, not yet had such a top breakfast on the entire Lahn hiking trail. Swimming pool ok also with the corona rules. So all in all 5 stars.

Interesting and in large parts quite well preserved castle on the mountain peaks. There is also parking space inside for some cars. A catering establishment is also available. The castle can easily be visited and the remains are worth a detour. The view almost all around the valley is also very nice.

I make tours with my bike to all places and one of them was Gleiberg Castle. It's super super nice up there. There are great views in all directions and a restaurant with a great atmosphere and a visit to the castle is absolutely worth seeing even at night. Beautiful place

This castle which is 308m above see level, was built in the late 900 or early 1000 on a small hill, by Graf Friedrich the First. The foundation of the square living quarters is still visible today. Nothing much to see except a lot of broken walls of an old mighty castle. If you have the energy, then climb the 196 stairs to the top of the remaining tower. Here you have a stunning 360 degree view of the surrounds. If you are a follower of medieval castles, then this one is for you.

Romantic place

This is a both a functional castle, with restaurant, store, and event venues, and a ruin. It is easy to see the skeleton of the older parts of the castle, there are a variety of plaques that describe when different parts were built and destroyed, the tower is open for visitors and has a 1 euro telescope to scan the expansive views around it. It sits centrally in a valley and offers some breathtaking views, especially at sunset.

Love visting old culture and Burg Gleiberg won't let tou down. Definitely worth spending some time here. Make sure you take the stairs to the top of the turret... well worth the 360 views

I did not enter in the restaurant but i visited the castle and the tower. The tower had one of the most amazing views I have ever seen.

Great place to spend a weekend and enjoy the view from the top of the tower. The way to the castle is so beautiful, especially in Autumn. Have fun!
